Fantasia, Part Dung
As promised, here’s video of those dung-loving fungi shooting off their spores set to music. Just click on the above title to see it. The researchers decided to go with classical music instead of my suggestion of The Final Countdown. Which is fine. You know, whatever. I’m a big boy, I’m over it.
Unfortunately for the researchers, these guys aren’t.

Seriously though, the video is very cool. It looks like something out of Disney’s Fantasia. And everytime the fungi shoot off their spores there’s a trail of liquid that comes out. Not sure what that liquid is. Water? Please tell me it’s water. And not some sort of fungus sex goo.
And that classical song they chose always makes me want to get up and grab a hammer. Not to do the kind of lame hammering I usually do.

But to do some real manly hammering. Like this.

Anything where I get to repeatedly hammer away on a huge hunk of metal for no appartent reason.
Speaking of hammering, does anyone remember this little gem from back in the day?

I was in 5th or 6th grade when Sledge Hammer was on TV, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Well, maybe not as cool as Robocop, but still pretty great. You can’t go wrong with a show about a cop who loves and talks to his gun and has an “I heart violence” bumper sticker on his car.
